We visit friends in Parkersburg a couple of times an year and had enjoyed staying at the Hampton Inn while in town. Not anymore, though, I'm afraid. Spent close to $180 on a renovated room that had no chairs for sitting other than the desk chair. When I checked out, I asked if this was because of the renovations and the clerk said that this was now the standard appointment for the rooms. What were my partner and I to do -- take turns sitting on the one chair in the room? This is absurd. Please tell me the desk clerk was misinformed because otherwise, I will. need to change my review to one star.

Booked this hotel for a quick one night stay while on a road trip. Parkersburg is a great location for a stop because there are lots of food options available. I did not stop by the front desk. My digital key was ready well before my arrival and I received a very friendly message from the front desk welcoming me and offering assistance, if needed. Appearances can be deceiving. Although the outside of the hotel’s building looks dated, inside, this hotel is in great condition. Although not very spacious, the room was spotless. Housekeeping did a great job on making this room so clean, it almost felt like no one has stayed in it before. The furnishings and wall treatments also look as if they have been recently replaced. Beds and pillows were comfortable. AC worked great. I would 100% stay here again.

Excellent experience. Used the app to check in 24 hours ahead of my reservation. We were coming in late and I wanted to be sure we were all set. I was able to request my electronic key and pick my room from the app. I hate being near the traffic pattern of the elevator so chose the furthest away and on the floor I wanted. It gave the option of upgrading my room at that point for a nominal fee as well. We got in late, were able to access the hotel and our room with the electronic key and go directly to our room, but noticed how clean and bright the newly remodeled lobby was. Very welcoming. The room itself was perfect. Clean and quiet. Possibly the best night’s sleep I’ve ever had in a hotel. The bed was very comfortable and due to picking the location, there were no unexpected loud noises from hallway traffic. We almost didn’t choose this hotel because it said it was under renovation. You never know what that means. I see why it has 5 stars. My husband enjoyed breakfast in the morning and said there was a lot to choose from in the buffet. When leaving, the e-checkout was not working and the app requested a stop at the desk. Both people working were very, very friendly and had me smiling on my way out. Overall, possibly the best hotel experience we’ve had.

There's nothing better than a clean hotel. This one is always very clean. We enjoy that the pool and hot tub are open 24/7. Breakfast is always great with lovely workers. We plan to continue staying at this hotel every time we're in the area.
